Mountain residents, welcome to Mountain Cable, your locally owned and operated cable tv and internet service provider. Mountain Cable is currently in the process of installing all new equipment to provide you with the best high-speed internet and HDTV. For those of you outside our cable area, we are installing wireless microwave links to give you the fastest high speed internet available.
This system is owned by Andy Hammond and Dennis O'Brien, both long-time Coal Creek Canyon residents, with an interest in bringing these services previously only available in the big city. The Mountain Cable office phone will be answered six days a week by a live person, no telephone tree to navigate, who will answer your questions and make sure any issues are resolved quickly.
We started by completely replacing all existing equipment with the newest and most advanced electronic equipment available. We also realized that there was no bandwidth available to properly run the system, so we have installed our own new high-speed dedicated links to power the system with the reliability and speed you want. All of our electronic equipment is backed up by UPS battery systems and generators so that it will keep running in the worst weather.
Dennis and Andy are currently shooting for a launch date of September 15, 2011. Our service area for cable (HDTV, high-speed internet, telephone) include most of Coal Creek Canyon and Gilpin County on CO119 south of Rollinsville to the Gilpin County Library. Our wireless high-speed internet area includes a large part of Gilpin County, much of Coal Creek Canyon, the entire Gross Reservoir area, Magnolia Road all the way to the Peak to Peak Highway, and various other areas.
